As part of St. Leo's 150th Anniversary Celebration, The Fugue will perform A Sentimental Journey, the Great American Songbook on Saturday, October 15th at 6:30 P.M. in the Parish Center at St. Leo's. Since wine and cheese will be served at this event, we ask that all present be 21 years of age or over. Proceeds will benefit the St. Leo's Organ Fund. Tickets are $12 per person. and may be obtained by calling 978-537-7257 or by stopping in at St. Leo's Rectory during office hours. Tickets will also be sold after weekend Masses.
Due to the intensifying snowstorm, the 4:00 Mass for Saturday, January 29th is cancelled. We plan on being up and running for Mass on the morning of Sunday, January 30th. Stay home and stay safe!
Bishop McManus ordained six men transitional deacons in preparation for priesthood Saturday at St. Paul Cathedral. James Boulette, Thiago Ibiapina and Derek Mobilio were ordained at a 10 am. Mass. Cleber de Paula, Julio Granados and Juan Parra at a 2 pm. Mass. Also on Sunday of the Holy Trinity, Fr. Bill Champlin and the Seminarian Rafael Longhini attended the Mass of thanksgiving and where Deacon Cleber de Paula preached for the first time at Holy Family Parish in Worcester.
The Diocese of Worcester has announced that as of Saturday, May 29, 2021, vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks or physically distance in our churches. This change does not apply to our schools and to our offices. For those who are not vaccinated and for those who still wish to maintain social distancing, an area in church will be reserved so that you they may feel safe in church as well. On Sunday, October 4th, the Church celebrates the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis had a great love for animals, so it is a tradition that animals are often blessed on this day. Bishop McManus has named Fr. Bill Champlin the administrator of St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Westminster. The appointment goes into effect September 1, 2019. This assignment is in addition to Fr. Bill's current responsibilities as pastor of St. Leo's. Bishop McManus has asked that our associate pastor, Fr. Juan Herrera, assist in saying Masses at St. Edward's as well as continuing to with his duties at St. Leo's.
Thursday, May 30th is the Ascension of the Lord, a holy day of obligation. Masses will be celebrated at 7:00 A.M., 9:30 A.M. (School Mass), 12:15 P.M., and 7:00 P.M. Please join us as we celebrate this feast day!
The Schedule of Masses for Easter is as follows: Saturday (Easter Vigil) 7:30 P.M., Sunday 7:30, 9:30 , and 11:00 A.M. (Please note: There is no 4:00 P.M. Mass on Saturday, because we need to wait until sundown.)
- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in the Convent Chapel on Fridays, starting immediately after the 8:30 A.M. Mass. At 4:00 P.M. Benediction will be celebrated. - Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday during Lent at 4:30P.M. in the church.
